Possible Huge Offseason Moves

There have been rumors about Shaq going to Cleveland, but the Suns don't just want to rid him for salary, they also want some talent to come along with that. They could do a trade for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, but Wallace is talking about retirment, and Pavlovic hasn't been very effective in his career. Back at the trade deadline in February, the Suns said they would be interested in having guard Delonte West, but Cleveland wants to hold on to West.

There are also some other teams that want him, the Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Hornets, and New York Knicks.

Dallas could send them center Erick Dampier and a decent role player, but Phoenix has no interest in Dampier. He isn't that good, and he is owed $23 million in the next two years.

Portland has really no one to trade up because most of the roster is made up of young players, and New York won't get Shaq by getting rid of Eddy Curry.

But New Orleans i! s a big possibility. They have Tyson Chandler (around $24 million) and Peja Stojakovic ($30 million}, but they are both too much for Phoenix. So we are just going to have to wait and see what happens to Shaq this offseason.

Also, Hedo Turkoglu announced that he will be opting out for free agency this offseason. Detroit could be a possible destination for Turkoglu even though Orlando is very commited to bringing him back for next season. But the money could be a problem for Orlando. They haven't been a tax team for quite a while, so he may go to a team like the Pistons, because they may be relieved of their cap space taken up by Allen Iverson and Rasheed Wallace. The Pistons could also pick up a guy like Carlos Boozer, and they are also eyeing Bulls guard Ben Gordon.

Josh Smith is also a big name on the trade block. He is cheap, and very, very talented. But I don't think the Hawks should give him up because he could be a superstar in years to come.

And about Tyler Hansbrough.

I said on the da! y of the draft lottery that the Jazz would pick him, and then all of the sudden, mock drafts started saying that as well. I know I didn't trigger that because none of those big sites read my little blog, but I just thought it was interesting that a bunch of the mock drafts are saying that. And he also worked out with Utah a little bit ago. So he might be going over to Utah. Jerry Sloan also admitted that he likes the kids who work as hard as they can while they are on the court. Hansbrough is one of those players.
